Over the course of this conference, we’ll decode the mysteries of innovation, track down best practices from around the globe, and unlock the strategies that will empower our students to think critically, collaborate across cultures, and make meaningful contributions—no matter where their journey takes them.

Welcome to the Appalachian State GEAR UP Partnership’s

Academic Innovation Conference 2025

Join us for our “Where in the World...” Academic Innovation Conference June 11th at Appalachian State University, located in Boone, NC. Focused on the paradigm of “Global Citizen Education,” our conference is a one-day, session-packed event. Tenets of Global Education will be the theme for each session, showcasing an aspect of citizenship necessary for our students to be effective global citizens through the lens of rural education.

Registration for AIC '25 will open March 1st. Registration will close on May 2nd, or when the conference reaches capacity. We hope to see you in June.
